Anton Brejestovski

Anton Brejestovski was born on 7 May 1971, and studied linguistics and languages until deciding to become a professional musician at the age of 21.

His credo is to show in his music the reality which lies beyond the realm of the physical world as perceived with our five senses, and to show it in all of its possibilities of depth and diversity.

For ten years Mr. Brejestovski has been particularly fascinated by the world of faeries, whose denizens possess less logic and intellect than humans, but are more gifted in the craft of music making music which, hence, sounds more beautiful and complex than human music.

At the turn of the century, Mr. Brejestovski conceived and later developed the idea of the language of Laoris (http://caprice-music.com/index-eng.php?do=cat&category=Laoris), whose unique system of writing, grammar and vocabulary bear no direct relationship to any human language.

As a result of these combined musical and linguistic efforts, the Elvenmusic trilogy was composed, recorded and released.

Mr. Brejestovski is bringing these skills and interests to bear in his work with Apogee in the composition of a full scale ballet, in which the human and faerie world will be depicted and contrasted.

Mr. Brejestovski’s music is performed and recorded by the ensemble Caprice (http://www.caprice-music.com), whose members perform for Russia’s top symphony orchestras and with whom he has recorded six CDs. His other music credits include another full scale ballet, music for four films as well as multiple theatre productions, a short opera, and numerous academic works.

Anton's first major collaboration with Apogee is the composition of an original score for a full length ballet entitled КОРОЛЕВА ФЕЙ (THE FAERIE QUEEN). For more information on this major new work, to see excerpts from the libretto and hear excerpts from the score, please see the following page:
