Sergey Vosalevsky

Violinist Sergey Vosalevsky was the first laureate of the Belarus Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts. He was so named in absentia at Apogee's Odessa Music Festival in September of 2006, due to his inability to obtain an exit visa from the Belarussian government to attend and perform at the event.

Earlier in 2006, Vosalevsky received the Grand Prize at a festival for very young musicians in Ukraine. His subsequent receipt of Apogee's Belarus Award, at the age of only ten, made him one of the youngest artists ever to receive an Apogee award.
