Prior to the official naming and categorization of Apogee Foundation Scholarship awards, on the request and recommendation of his instructors and the agreement of Apogee's principals, Gyorgy Matyukhin was given the opportunity to take part in an Apogee summer intensive program at the conclusion of the 2000/2001 academic year.
