Evgeny Kokin
Buryatia Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts

Evgeny Kokin was selected as the first laureate of the Buryatia Award for Excellence in the Performing Arts by a jury chaired by Genrykh Mayurov, a famed choreographer and Artistic Director of the Bolshoi Ballet Academy who is himself from Buryatia, and which jury also included Apogee Vice President Nikolai Dokukin, a Bolshoi Academy senior instructor and docent. Both of these distinguished instructors have personally taught courses and assisted with the development of the curriculum at the Buryatia Ballet School. Apogee President Kenneth Schneider also served personally on the jury for the selection of this award, the decision of which was unanimous.
