"Music for me is a breathtaking art: it heals, inspires and gives meaning to human life. By enabling artists around the world to achieve their potential, Apogee unites us in exchanging ideas, building understanding, and attaining excellence. It is my hope that all of the aims of The Apogee Foundation will be fulfilled, so that the dreams of young artists all over the world can someday come true. I have promised in my own heart to do everything I can to make it so."

Eleven year old Apogee Merit Scholar Vladislav Agramakov is shown in a live performance at Apogee's Odessa International Music Festival.
The Foundation seeks to identify the world's most gifted emerging artists as early as possible in their career cycles to provide maximum benefits for their future. Agramakov was selected as one of the youngest Apogee Merit Scholars ever at the age of 10. As a result of his outstanding series of performances at Apogee's Music Festival later in the same year, he was re-selected by the festival jury to continue as an Apogee Merit Scholar for another full term.
For more information, see the Foundation's 3 October 2006 news release.
