Communications and Public Relations

Position: Communications Consultant, Intern or Volunteer
Location: Flexible

Description

Communications and editorial specialists are invited to employ their skills in a highly creative and rewarding role with The Apogee Foundation: an international philanthropy dedicated to the development of human excellence in the performance arts. Apogee is seeking one or more people with strong communications and writing skills to assist in the ongoing development of the Foundation's print and electronic presentation and program materials. The goal will be to create dynamic materials with a consistent expressive identity inspiring people to participate in Apogee’s mission of developing human excellence through the performance arts.

Those filling this position may work remotely on their own time. Projects foreseen in the immediate future include the redrafting of texts for the Foundation's brochures and websites, as well as ongoing participation in the preparation of news releases and articles.

Persons involved in these projects will work directly with the President of the Foundation and other key participants in Apogee's programs around the world. The role can be limited to communications alone or also can include creative development work enhancing Apogee's public image that will have a real impact on the future of the Foundation and its wonderful beneficiaries around the globe.

Most highly valued in candidates will be a strong and inspiring creative approach, a real belief in and commitment to the Foundation's mission, and a generally positive attitude.

Qualifications

Ideally, the person filling this role would have strong experience in communications, public relations or copy writing or editing, but we also are willing to consider other candidates who share our ideals and genuinely wish to further them.

We value most highly a strong attention to detail, consistent professionalism, timeliness and initiative, a belief in and commitment to the Foundation's mission, and a positive attitude.
